The start of a new year is also a good time to reflect on the changes we need to make and the goals we need to set. Whose life wouldn’t be improved by living healthier and more active, becoming more disciplined and stable and generous financially, decluttering all the junk and spending more time with those we love the most? But what if we still were missing out on what we needed the most?
Today we will look at the story of a man from the Bible who didn’t know it, but Jesus was just what he needed so that we can be reminded that Jesus is just what we need too.
Acts 3:1-10 tells the story of a man paralyzed from birth. He was begging for money and asked Peter and John if they had any spare change. Peter told him, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
Jesus’ name is not just a word but a declaration of hope, healing, and salvation.
When we call on the name of Jesus, we’re not just speaking a word; we’re declaring that we believe in His power to bring hope where there’s despair, healing where there’s brokenness, and salvation where there’s sin.
