There are plenty of things in our lives that we can easily take for granted – like clean water, electricity, access to education.
And tables.
The table is a special place. It is a place of bonding, transformation, sharing and welcoming. The church we read about in Acts 2 understood the power of the table. That’s why the table was a focal point for the health and growth of the church.
They learned the power of the table from Jesus. Because Jesus spent a lot of his time (at least what is recorded in the Gospels) around tables.
In Luke 14, Jesus told a parable about God’s banquet table. God is inviting everyone to join him at the table. Not everyone will accept. Some will be. distracted. But the invitation to God’s table is for everyone. Including you.
