Jont Allen is an Electrical Engineering professor at UIUC. His lifelong pursuit has been the theory and practice of human speech recognition. He worked at Bell Labs for 32 years and currently teaches courses on the science behind machine learning, mathematical physics, signal processing, and more. He has more than 20 US patents on hearing aids, signal processing, and others.
