Impatient leaders are the best. They get things done. They make things happen. It’s the reason they have gotten to where they are. It’s also the thing that will keep us from being more than a one man show.
How many times have you assigned a task, decided it’s not happening fast enough, and then done it yourself? (For me, that’s probably thousands of times.). What happens if you do that all the time?
You end up with a staff like this:
1. They have no initiative. They will wait to see if you just do it for them.
2. They start to resent that you don’t trust them enough to get their job done and they eventually leave or “silently quit”. (See point 1)
People inherently want to do a good job. They can’t do that if ”good job” is unknown, or if they aren’t given the space to show you they can do it.
