Description

To set the scene, Zach walked in with a glorious piggy tee that encourages all who are fortunate enough to behold it to go ‘Hog Wild' and it infectiously inspired us to hit our big sports right out of the gate! I am talking Springs, Jocelyn’s prior work experience and of course, mental math all within the first 20 minutes! But the true focus of today's episode is of course to cover the 1990 rom-com classic, Pretty Woman. Directed by Gary Marshall and produced by the iconic Touchstone Pictures, the plot follows Julia Roberts’ Vivian Ward as she meets and enchants Richard Gere’s Edward into soliciting her services for an entire week transforming their lives both personally and professionally (he even overcomes his fear of heights)!

Join as we share our initial reactions of the film, favourite moments, trivia, why this movie would have failed if anyone but Richard Gere played ‘Edward’, if $3000 is a justified amount for a whole week of ‘service’, George Costanza, carpet picnics, Barney the hotel manager, retail prejudice, fine dining and high class edict/potential pretentiousness, the Opera, sleep smooches, if it is ever a good look to mistreat salespeople, if there is a direct correlation between attractiveness and one’s ability to get away with behavioural awfulness and ponder if kissing on the mouth is truly more personal than having sex.

We also dedicate time into discussing pride week, the best ice cream spots in the city, the similarities between TMNT & Christianity, pancakes, La La Land, the status of prostitution in Los Angeles, Winnipeg Transit, Peter Nygard, Succession, How I Met Your Mother, cancel culture, foul language, if ‘Pretty Woman’ is secretly a Batman film, my father (of course), and why I sometimes wish I never created Sweat Equity Fitness…

Do not make a ‘BIG MISTAKE’ and miss this episode!
