This is a very special episode for Mental Health Awareness Month. Justin having suffered with anxiety throughout his life conducts this episode with three guest who have dealt with a lot of the same issues.
One third of all adults have reported either anxiety or depression.
301,000,000 people in the world have anxiety disorders.
Bethany Isaacs who is a registered nurse, tells that her first bought with anxiety happened when she was 22yrs old, and that lead to depression. Being a mother she says that her children helped her to hold on. Getting it through it she first gives credit to God. She has also attended therapy, recommends worrying about one thing at a time, genetic testing, counseling, a letting go journal, and the 5 senses technique (touch, taste, smell, see, hear) *Mental disorders lead to physical disorders.
Kody Bingham says that anxiety started with her in high school and really hit her hard with the passing of her dad in 2014. She never told anyone until she had all four of her children. Kody's mother talked her into going to the doctor and that helped a lot. Until she and one of her kids was involved in a head on collision. It then came back and she is still working through it mentally. She knows that God spared her and her child and she reccomends talking to someone about it. *Trauma really increases anxiety.
Brittany Rose who is Justin's cousin, feels that it is a family trait passed down. Her problems with anxiety started in high school and got worse with time. Brittany remembers vividly her first panic attack, during which she thought she was having a heart attack. She had to quit her job when her daughter was 2 due to anxiety and her mother would have to help her with several everyday tasks for a period of time. She is now off of medication and is still attending therapy. She recommends Church and building a relationship with God, as well as genetic testing, and therapy. *You care more than you should.
*The you before anxiety, is who you are. Justin
