Description

Laverne who is a retired school teacher, currently working with the Meals on Wheels program in the local area, spends her spare time making art with something that has been often discarded on small tobacco farms. Tobacco Sticks! Making walking sticks, platters and American flags is a hobby that is great for relaxation and sells. She sells her art in Gatlinburg, TN and in Kentucky as well.
Sharing stories of growing up in the Hills of Eastern Kentucky. She tells us of canning, gardening, and a heartwarming story of a simple doll she had as a child.
Other stories include Ricky Falls, and the story of the house she now lives in that her grandparents had owned. Jason and Amy have became good friends with Laverne over the past few years and this a comfortable conversation between the three of them.
P.S. Jason had Laverne as a teacher in middle school and never got in trouble in her class!
