Description

Where does the myth of the blonde woman come from? Either idolized or shamed since antiquity, this episode explores the tremendous sociocultural value of blondeness and the positive or negative impact it has had on young blonde women.

Whether treated as bimbos and divas, or angels and saints, it is very clear that blonde hair in our society is so much more than just a hair color.

Joined by Natalia Ilyin, the author of Blonde Like Me: The Roots of the Blonde Myth in our culture (2000) I will be exploring the history of the representation of blonde hair in our society and dissecting the many factors that have played a role in the narrative of blonde women. Hope you enjoy!
