I did not know about June 19. I never heard about Juneteenth Day. Like many Americans, I knew about the Emancipation Proclamation that ended slavery in America. What I did not know was the deeper, more meaningful historical significance of the day. We explore this and the connection between this Independence Day and the July 4th Independence Day.
