Description

Day 299 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE.
Jeremiah 52 offers a detailed account of the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians. King Zedekiah tried to flee but was captured, then had to watch his sons get executed before getting his eyes gouged out (yikes!). Afterward, he was chained and dragged off to Babylon. The chapter then goes into specifics about the number of people exiled and the items taken from the temple. It's basically a "last episode" recap of the temple's destruction and the tragic consequences of ignoring prophetic warnings.

Paul, identifying himself as an apostle and servant of God, writes a letter to Titus, whom he refers to as his "true son in our common faith." He greets Titus with wishes of grace and peace. The purpose of the letter is to guide Titus in organizing and overseeing churches in Crete. Paul provides guidelines for selecting church leaders, emphasizing they must lead blameless lives and hold true to solid doctrine to guide others and rebuff those who contradict the teachings. He mentions some disruptive individuals in Crete, particularly some of the Circumcision Party. He stresses the importance of rebuking and correcting these false teachers.
