This is always a busy time of year for me and I am sure for many of you. And while there is not a convenient time to be under the weather, this is an especially inconvenient time.  However, I found myself this at less than 100% over the holidays, I'd say less than 50%. So, I was faced with the importance of showing up and the importance of rest, a familiar dilemma.  While I chose rest, for the most part, I found myself a bit disappointed about the circumstances changing plans.  However, taking a little of my own advice, I looked for the opportunity in my new circumstances.

Certainly there was time to rest.  There was also time to accept the help of others, who appreciated the opportunity to help.  There was time to think, evaluate, plan, and mentally create.  All of those things are beneficial for forward momentum. It's helpful to see the new opportunities that present themselves in unexpected circumstances.  It is also a good reminder that, thought it sounds contradictory, we should "expect the unexpected" as a strategy to being prepared to make the most of any circumstance.

We are nearing the end of our November challenge.  Let's finish strong by complimenting yourself daily, spending 2 minutes in gratitude, 5 minutes of goal focus, compliment or show appreciation to someone else, and celebrate you.
