Let’s talk about envisioning the future
Last week we talked about the concept of change, today I want to talk about taking action for change by means of visioning.
Visioning is the process of creating a clear, concise, mental picture of our desired future. This can be done on an individual level or as a part of a group. It takes intention and focus to provide a clear and detailed picture for your desired future. You’ll need to tap into your inner creativity to envision the details of your future.
Visioning helps us to clarify our purpose, and set a path and goals for our future success.
Another benefit of visioning is that it helps us to develop a positive mindset that can become a a guide for our future actions as we move toward our established goals.
Some techniques, such as journaling, meditating and imaging the future, can be helpful in the visioning process. Picture yourself achieving your goals, as you continue to do this, more clarity will become present and your work toward your goal.
So, I encourage you to take some time to envision your desired future. Give it time to develop the details. By developing a vision, your will be one step closer to taking action that is congruent with your desired future.
