Let’s talk about Leading with Integrity
Many people have a desire to lead, which is admirable. Leadership comes with privileges and responsibilities As leaders we have the ability to help set and maintain the tone of the groups and organizations that benefit from our contributions and interactions. Because of our direct and indirect influence, it is important to be an intentional person of integrity at all times.
When we are intentional about being a person of integrity, when we are faced with decisions to do the right thing or take the easy way out – we choose doing the right thing. As leaders we embrace efficiency and getting the most ROI for our investments of time and money. We don't compromise our character or ask others to compromise their character. Doing the right thing can sometimes look like the hard thing in the moment, however, doing the right thing will have positive impact and positive ripple effect.
It’s important to remember that leaders are people that others
choose to align with and follow. People are watching leaders not only for direction, but watching them to emulate what works and what it looks like to be a trustworthy person of integrity.
So, I encourage all of us to be mindful of how we show up to lead
and to remember that people are always watching.
