Let’s talk about Being Quotable and Being Copied
Sometimes we can get fixated on getting the credit, the notoriety,
the acknowledgement over sharing goodness, truth, and other information of value. However, impacting others for good has a greater return on our investment than just a mere acknowledgement or accolade.
I used to get a bit bothered when I would share something, only to hear someone else later share it as their own. But then I flipped the narrative on that. There is a great responsibility to being a
person that others look to for truth, perspective, relativity, and knowledge. There is a great responsibility when others seek to follow a pattern you are setting. It is a form of compliment when
others want to quote or utilize what you have said. So, why not set out to be a person that strives for have great positive impact. The more people share the knowledge and benefit they have received, the more impactful that source of that information
may be.
Be a person of great integrity, be a person that people expect to learn from and learn with. Be a person that demonstrates good character and respect when interacting with others. Recognize that positive impact is important and credit, acknowledgement, and accolades have a way of working themselves
out. Sometimes, the unique circumstances we find ourselves in allow us to have a unique positive direct and indirect impact.
