Let’s talk about Proverbs, Chapter 31, Wisdom Series – Virtues
Proverbs Chapter 31:25 – 27, & 31
Today our inspiration comes from the book of Proverbs, Chapter 31. We’ll be speaking about virtues of the virtuous woman. We’ll be focusing on the later part of the chapter and looking at some virtues that we might all do well to embody. So let’s take a look at the passage.
Chapter 31, verses 25 – 27, & verse 31. And the passage reads:
(25) “Strength and honour are her clothing: and she shall rejoice in time to come. (26) “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. (27) “ She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.” And (31) “Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.”.”
These verses provide some insight about the importance of our character and accompanying behaviors. This passage looks at how one carries themselves, noting this woman has characteristics of strength and honour. Her rejoicing in time to come speaks to her disposition and hope for the future. She
is both wise and kind. Exercising wisdom and kindness is something we should all strive to embody. She takes care of her responsibilities and does not participate in wasting time with others that are not making positive progress. Finally, she is able to enjoy the outcomes of her diligence and she can be appreciated and admired for for all the work that she has done in her home and in the city.
So, in closing we ae reminded that we should be diligent in working hard, and that we can be wise, kind, responsible, strong, and joyful, if we just choose to live those virtues and attributes.
