Christians love and can love because they have been given of God's nature. When Christians truly love, the world sees the Father. Love is such an amazing gift that much of our pop music is written about it. We hear of love lost, love found, love stolen and even love abused. Music lyrics tell us that love could fix the world problems if it would just love. The problem we face is that love has been so perverted that the definition of love has become about taking rather than giving.
God is love. Love is part of God's nature and John repeats our Lord's teaching about the importance of love in 1John 4:7-16. Christian love allows others to see something they can only wish for and desire.
