Briana Bowley is joined by Nitro Circus’ newest recruit, 17 year old ramp skater Nikita Elaine to chat all things roller skating, the Nitro Circus experience and what it is to be a female in a male dominated industry. Nikita Elaine began skating in 2007 and has just taken on a new journey, joining the global Nitro Circus crew as a ramp skater. Outside of her own skating career, Nikita has always enjoyed coaching learn to skate classes and aggressive ramp workshops for Skatescool Australia. With a background in roller derby and Jam, Nikita’s true passion lies with ramp skating, inventing and learning many of her skills from scratch. A couple of highlights of her skating career thus far include planning, hosting and skating in the 2016 The Great Southern Slam Skatepark Showdown through Chicks in Bowls Adelaide with some of the best skaters from Australia and New Zealand. Gaining sponsorship by Newcastle Roller Derby League to attend the 2013 Rollerpalooza, a national ramp skating event in Newcastle, NSW and finally her participation in advanced demos for Melbourne Roller Derby Shredageddon and Rollerpalooza 2013 & 2015 & 2018.
