A morning just like this
I can feel a little bite, as the north wind comes through my window
Close my eyes, wander back, longing for your touch, oh where did it go?
Birds are singing, sun is shining, just like when we shared our last kiss
Oh, dreams come back to me, she made me smile on a morning just like this
Words can be so beautiful; let you paint a scene so pretty and complete
But confusion can twist those words, knock you cold off your feet
Use all you know to understand, this love is something both of you miss
As you lie apart and think of the joy you shared on a morning just like this
You know she needs time and space; she knows you care but don’t understand
So how can you show her, how can you comfort her? Make her want to hold your hand?
Come hell or high water, she knows you’d go through it all despite any warning, for her kiss
Cause you love her so much, and you’d give anything to be by her side on a morning just like this
Oh, baby forgive my silly ramblings and carrying on, it’s just the lack of your touch
See I’ve lived a long life, seen many things but nothing I’ve loved quite as much
I’m trying oh so hard, to fulfill my dream and spend my life enveloped in your tenderness
And wake up every day, with a smile across my face, yeah, I’m dreaming of a morning just like this
