Bridge the divide
Red and blue, they want to separate you; you’ve got to be
one or the other
Since my birth, we’re killing the Earth; no one saw, too
busy hating on one another
Ignoring the science, MAGA-blind defiance; when it all burns
down, tell me where will you hide?
Petty differences expanded; covert actions heavy-handed; see
what’s in front of you and bridge the divide
Women have rights, minorities needn’t fear nights; gerrymandering
the maps to quell the voices
Keep ‘em on the ground, pay no attention to the sound; we’re
all equal ain’t you heard, and we have choices
We’ve come too far into sun, running out of places to run. Time
has come to take a good look inside
Despite what he ballyhoos, we share the same values; red, white,
and blue, lets bridge the divide
Who wins when warming grows, coastlines are flooded,
everything goes; you can’t deny what’s in front of your eyes
So how much of putting wealth ahead of need, protecting a criminal’s
greed; does it take before you realize?
Lady Liberty can’t look, even she wants to throw her book;
people that pied piper is a practiced pariah
It’s not the norm to be rude, use class to exclude; send him
away to serve a sentence he’s no messiah
Listen to what’s being said, don’t just vote blue or red; look
past the cover every book has a story inside
Quit hating on rainbows, your actions are where the shame
goes; we are all brothers lets bridge the divide
Rhetoric aside, folks, where do you stand? Cactus are frying
in the desert sand; Maui’s burning, jump in the ocean
Mark your calendars, incumbent or challengers; be sure and
vote for our future and let’s put a plan in motion
Use both your head and your heart, don’t let them drift too
far apart; say I’m from the USA with pride!
Let’s fix this mess, pray to your God to bless! That we can
stand united and work together to bridge the divide
