Cursing the snow on the street
It’s winter I get it, it’s supposed to snow where I live this time of year
But all of this damn snow that fell today has kept my baby from being here
I’m okay with ski hills full of fresh powder, yards dotted with snow men
I don’t mind shoveling only to see the plows fill the end of my driveway again
Some sunny days it snows but it ain’t too bad lying in my hot tub soaking my feet
It rather looks pretty to me then, but I’m always cursing the snow on the street
My baby got stuck in the middle of nowhere again, bound in by the snow
She wants to come home real bad but the roads just won’t let her go
Drifts across the highways, accidents everywhere, it’s just not safe to travel
The pretty picture we’d spun of the day had suddenly begun to unravel
We had a beautiful plan, with hugging and kissing it all seemed so complete
But old man winter had to blow his top and I’m cursing the snow on the street
Well I ain’t gonna sit and tell you that I’m ready to move somewhere without snow
I love summer more than anything, spring and fall too, but green all year? I don’t know
And building a snow man or making snow angels, or even catching flakes on your tongue
I still really enjoy doing those things, not just reserved for kids but for those who think young
But all that aside, this pretty panoramic winter snow globe scene fails to be complete
I’m sitting all alone cause my baby’s not here, and so I’m cursing the snow on the street
Melt already, would ya!
