Fresh
So many days I was hoping for something to change my attitude
Got tired of hearing the same old lines, I was just not in the mood
Hearing how well we fit together, yet things never seemed to mesh
Sad refrain gets stale and leaves you dreaming of something fresh
Yeah, you went around town but time had put you out of place
Too old for the scene that you ran years back with a younger face
Happiness seemed to move farther away the harder I would press
Pretty fruit seemed to rot away, and I pined to find something fresh
Then a thunderbolt came cracking through an otherwise sunny sky
Seems an angel was sent down to me, so beautiful all I could do was cry
Her beauty ran deep, straight to her soul and back to her gorgeous flesh
Held me in her arms, whispered I love you and I will always keep it fresh
My life changed and I thank God that it will never be the same
Done searching, done looking, done trying to be a player in the game
Life throws a curve or two, but the key is learning how to catch
Someone wonderful like you babe, someone to love and keep it fresh
