Glimmer
Who put all those damn rain clouds, in the midst of our
sunny day plans?
It won’t keep us from dancing in the rain, though we’re not
really big fans
We’ll swap our wet things for dry ones while the tea kettle
starts to simmer
It might look like rain, but hold out hope so long as there’s
a little glimmer
Today couldn’t get much worse the pain and the fear, babe I
know that it’s true
But screw the odds! I’m not losing sight of the days we dreamt
about us two
There’s a bright light perpetually shining inside you, baby
it will never get dimmer
I’m feeding it love and stoking the flames, even in this
rain there’ll ever be a glimmer
And a glimmer was the spark that lit a fire in my heart
No rain, no flood could douse this inferno from the start
And a little glimmer from you and I smile big and wide

Soon we can laugh until we cry about all that we’ve been

How we kept it together when life couldn’t give us anything
much grimmer
