Hang tight
Just when it seemed to be giving my life a happiness injection
My inner compass went black, and I lost any sense of connection
Tears and curling in a ball, this time everything seemed like it was right
Till my insides came crashing down, don’t panic I got to just hang tight
Too many fires to keep them contained and under control
Embers flying in every direction, burning through to my soul
Well, they can knock me down but I’m getting back on my feet tonight
Despite how it looks like I’m just falling apart, I know inside I got to hang tight
Troubles from way back, and the new ones added to the load on my back
Have caused me to stumble and go astray but I’m getting myself on track
I’m not too old to learn new tricks, this dog has still got plenty of fight
And I’m gathering all my best juju, cause I know it’s not easy, but I got to hang tight
Hang tight and trust that I’m not going to fall
And even if I do, I’m getting back up and standing tall
Hang tight with my baby, not going to ever let go
Water our love with the tears we shed, and we will grow
Hang tight and don’t get down or be reduced to a scowl and a growl
Failure’s not an option, cause baby there’s no way I’m throwing in the towel
