Magical Holiday moments we share
There’s a certain chill in n the air, the leaves have found their way down
Decorations are everywhere, lights and trees increasingly dot the town
Me, I peruse my favorite sites to find a dish, or a cookie recipe or two
Placing pleasing plates * gasp* is my wish, sharing joy with all of you
Christmas is coming, time to fetch the boxes of decorations
Ornaments, lights, and various accessories, and plenty of libations
It all looks so pretty but the one thing for which I really care
Is my family here reliving magical holiday moments we share
The meal is so fun to create, and I love the pleased reaction
Along with the smiles and laughter it’s my greatest satisfaction
Despite presents so precious and amazing, they take a back seat
To the memories we happily rekindle and the new ones we create
Yes, Christmas is coming, time to fetch the boxes of decorations
Ornaments, lights, and various accessories, and plenty of libations
It all looks so pretty but the one thing for which I really care
Is my family here reliving magical holiday moments we share
I watch the snow fall softly to the ground, covering the yard in white
I remember times when we were so much younger than we are tonight
Faces that we forever miss, wipe a tear and smile as we raise a glass
Savor and enjoy each other’s company, cause these times go too fast
