Sail across the swamp
Too many bridges to nowhere, ending halfway over the river
Too many memories of nights taking their toll on my liver
No more time to wander, no time for another thoughtless romp
This time the animals will be seated in my ark as I sail across the swamp!
How did yesterday mange to convince tomorrow I really didn’t need it anyway?
Those foolish thoughts and misspent years packed their things and went away
I am so much bigger than that now, see them run or I will surely stomp
Like ants that piss me off, well they can’t bug me as I sail across the swamp!
Heading east into the rising sun to greet tomorrow with the future I love
Things I wasted time trying to get around, now I feel I can just rise above
The good life is waiting, like a big juicy strawberry that I’m going to chomp!
All aboard everyone! This ship is leaving the dock as I sail across the swamp!
Oh, the day will be perfect! The stars will align
You can have yours, but you cannot have mine!
Take my name off the lease, here take the keys
I no longer care you can do what you please
My life is going to be all that I dreamed, as I sail across the swamp!
