Sunny and warm
Froze and chilled to the bone, sitting here shiverin’ alone
Breathing a fog, I can barely see the numbers on my phone
Waiting for the sun to shine, get back in touch and feeling fine
Watch the snow fall from the trees, the icicles drop from the vine
Winter settles in for a rest, not the time of year I love the best
Aches and pains in my joints and I get heavy feeling in my chest
I try to smile as I shovel the snow off of the walks
I pay attention to the details as the weatherman talks
Despite my feigned interest I’m only trying to exhibit decorum
And just bide my time getting by till it’s sunny and warm
Some people build snowmen, some carve ice castles and show them
Me I would rather be in my slides and a pair of shorts out roamin’
Soaking in my hot tub playin’ the tunes, but this cold weather always ruins
A bit too chilly to relax outside, this cold really puts a damper on my doin’s
Put my feet up, get the heating pad, sometimes it ain’t easy being an old dad
But let me see the mercury climb past 70, then I think I’ll finally be glad
