Thanksgiving
We’re trying to get ahead but we keep falling behind the pace it seems
We pay all we have and then some trying to make a place of our dreams
Yeah you know we’re just improving how the guy who owns the bank ‘s living
So we smile and laugh and praise the Lord we have each other this thanksgiving
Food’s made with love, nothing fancy just things learned from doing without
The results are phenomenal, the smile’s around the table erase any doubt
No one cares about the glitter anyhow, it’s not the way a person ranks living
It’s the love that you add, minus your worries, yeah let’s enjoy another thanksgiving
We may not ever have a mote around the palace, or a drawbridge to the street
Not likely wearing the latest fashions, don’t wear anything fancy on our feet
Simple people, enjoying the basic things fire up the grill I’ll make those shanks sing
Beef, pork or chicken, I love cooking for friends, today it’s turkey for thanksgiving
Thank you friends for sharing another thanksgiving with us today
Your smiles are infectious, they’re a fortune we could never repay
We are blessed to be surrounded by love and smiles and laughter
Great times, great music, games and drinks and more food after
Thanksgiving is a special treat, consumed in so many ways
Tastes of food so special, and a warm memory that stays
Tucked away safe and sound
