The last of his twenties this year
Ran into some friends who asked about my kid
Just like always, I recounted all the things he did
How old is he now they asked, and I suddenly choked back a tear
Could it be true? Time flies, he’s in the last of his
twenties this year
Seemed the other day I marveled as he came to be
Climbing from the crib to college so much to see
Seems funny now my neuroticism from the first-time
fatherhood fear
Overblown by this dad and now he’s in the last of his
twenties this year
So proud as walked to me, prouder still the day he drove
away
Pokémon to podcaster, though they reside together to this
day
A home of his own, lovely wife, cute dog hell he’s thinking
of brewing beer
My son never ceases to amaze me, he’s in the last of his
twenties this year
