Woman
Tell me I’m a patient man, and
we will make a vacation plan
Pleasant thoughts to marinate
waiting on promised satiation
Still my petals face the sun,
ready for raindrops they get none
To frolic freely in the
rolling hills of blooming flowers babe so fun
A lonely stem withers and
drops, a bloom struggles to open and flops
Open your skies on me and
pour your loving feelings on my slow dying crops
Hold me against your chest, I
am yours for life forever at your behest
The singular passion that
pervades my dreams is the one I love the best
Woman! Oh! Woman come hug
away, everything ugly that stood in our way
Woman! Oh! Woman trumpets
will blare, clouds part as the sun lights the day
Tell me you’re really trying;
you are not tiring of my frowning and sighing
As if wings sprouted twixt my
shoulder blades, babe you know I’d be flying
Had I actually sprouted those
wings, I’d probably fly into a few trees and things
But once I got it straight I
would lift us high above and share the freedom it brings
Go directly to any destinations;
no highways, airports or Amtrak stations
Miles of open air, beautiful
scenery everywhere life void of complications
Alas I have no wings only
desire, of letting you know that I do I shall never tire
In a monsoon drenched in a
heavy downpour your image would still light my fire
Woman! Oh! Woman come hug
away, everything ugly that stood in our way
Woman! Oh! Woman trumpets
will blare, clouds part as the sun lights the day
And what a day, what a lifetime
of sunshine and laughter
Woman come hold me, let’s fly
high together ever after
