It's Day 48 of the MLB Lockout πŸ₯ŽπŸ”’.
On #TheUpdate this Tuesday, the streets of Brooklyn are turning deadly once again. Police say that a 15-year-old girl was found dead on Bedford Ave and Avenue P after she apparently was hit by a school bus around 8am Saturday. No city DOE buses were on the road, as schools were closed for the MLK holiday.
New York tenants and homeowners have lost some protection from eviction and foreclosure as the state Saturday ended a nearly 2-year-old moratorium aimed at keeping New Yorkers from losing their homes during the pandemic. The airline industry is rasing the stakes in a showdown with AT&T and Verizon over the companies' plan to launch new 5G wireless service this week, warning that thousands of flights could be grounded or delayed if the rollout takes place near major airports. And what would you think about longer school days? Or classes on Saturday? Or in the summer? Or changing how students learn to read? School chancellor David Banks says he's looking to shake up the system in order to get better results. 🏫
