It's Day 61 of the MLB Lockout πŸ₯ŽπŸ”’.
On #TheUpdate this Monday, the dig out continues across the northeast. The sun was shining yesterday, the day after the viscous nor'easter brought blizzard conditions to many areas, and left more than 100,000 customers without power. The winds that had gusted up to 80 mph on Saturday had died down, and temperatures climbed into the upper teens and 20s as people emerged from their homes to dig out. Governor Kathy Hochul says that vthe state's mask mandate will be extended until at least February 10th. She announced the extension Friday for the mandate that requires face coverings in all indoor public places unless the businesses or venues require COVID-19 vaccinations. She also says that the mandate could be lifted after that date if cases keep going down. Olympic athletes in Alpine skiing and other outdoor sports dependent on snow are worried as they see winters disappearing. Ski racers who will be competing entirely on manufactured snow during the Beijing Games in February know that global warming is threatening the future of their sport. And considering how we can easily swipe through hundreds of dating app profiles in a single evening, it goes without saying that there's a lot of pressure in people to stand out from the crowd. Body shaming someone you've literally never met won't help. πŸ“±πŸ™…πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ
