It's Day 71 of the MLB Lockout π₯π.
On #TheUpdate this Thursday, Governor Hochul decided to split the difference. She announced that the state will end a COVID-19 mask mandate requiring face coverings in most indoor public settings, but will keep masking rules in place in schools for now. She's been saying she wants to see vaccination rates for children increase before she gets rid of that mandate for schools. While New York works to launch a legal recreational marijuana market, some entrepreneurs have jumped into a legal grey area. They say that they're not selling pot, but they're bjust giving it away while people buy other items. The Office of Cannabis Management said that it sent letters to more than two dozen enterprises it suspects of illigally selling weed, saying to either stop, or face fines and potential criminal charges. In rural western Alabama, there's a little-known, but important piece of American history that stands vacant on a two-lane highway. It's the house where Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott were married in 1953. There's no sign or historical marker on the property. And Valentine's Day every year is a good time to remind spouses, partners, children, friends, neighbors, and even pets how much love there is to go around- and it's not even about the retail numbers. β€οΈπ©ββ€οΈβπ¨πΆ
