On #TheUpdate this Wednesday, Cannabis retailer Ascend Wellness says that the legal record will show that its executives did not exert political pressure on Governor Hochul's administration by attending a December fundraiser and then meeting with state officials. Cannabis company MedMen argues in court that Ascend was using "political pressure and undue influence to force" the state board's approval.
Speaking of Governor Hochul, she says that the state wants to improve its cyber security defenses. She announced that a new joint cybersecurity operations center will open in the coming months, and will unify threat assessments and responses between government agencies, critical businesses and utilities.
