Locally, New York state is taking a big and bold step in the COVID fight. Governor Hochul says that the statewide school masking requirement will be lifted by March 2nd. And then, hours later, Mayor Adams said that he's considering lifting the indoor school mask mandate and also the vaccine mandates for restaurants, bars, and theaters on March 7th. All of this is contingent on infections and hospitalizations continuing their downward trend.
