On #TheUpdate this Thursday, civilians trapped in besieged or destroyed cities and towns in Ukraine are suffering from electricity outages, food shortages and other vital services. Thousands are hoping to find relief through safe exits today agreed upon by Ukraine and Russia. 35,000 people already have been able to flee through these safe corridors. But, a Russian airstrike on a Mariupol maternity hospital that killed three and wounded 17 others drew outrage. Among the wounded included women that were pregnant and children buried in the rubble. Meanwhile, colleges across the U.S are pulling students from study abroad programs in Russia, and ending research partnerships and cutting financial ties to condemn the invasion. At the same time, colleges have promised to support Russian students in their campuses, opposing calls from so in Congress to remove them from the country. πΊπ¦π·πΊπ€°π½π¨π½βπ
