As producer of The Border Patrol on 810 WHB, Jake Gutierrez was the engine behind one of the most popular sports radio shows in Kansas City. Even though he was behind the scenes most days, Jake was a key contributor to the show’s success. He was living a life that I had dreamed about as a kid – having a front row seat to the action and talk of Kansas City’s biggest sporting events. But after 20 years on air and battling alcoholism, depression, and diabetes, Jake abruptly walked away from the industry earlier this year to go to Colorado and chart a path that God laid out for him. That path includes finishing a book to help people overcome life’s obstacles and find their innermost Self through living a principled life.
