Our guest this episode is semi-retired sports columnist and author, Mark Whicker.
A North Carolina native, Mark ultimately landed in southern California where he worked at both the Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Daily News as a sports columnist for over 30 years, chronicling some of the biggest moments in sports history.
He retired in 2022 but is still scratching his writing itch on Substack with regular takes on the sports and current events at "The Morning After" which he continues to offer free of charge to subscribers.
Mark's also recently published a biography on Dodgers' star and Baseball Hall of Famer, Don Drysdale, entitled Don Drysdale: Up and In the Life of a Dodgers Legend.
Among many topics, we discuss the book, his column, and his journalism career during our time with Mark. And when we ask him to provide us with the three most memorable moments he covered, you just might be surprised by at least one of them.
