We're joined in this episode by the President of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, Mike Nutter.
A native of northwest Ohio, Nutter's been with the TinCaps organization for 25 years and has helped shepherd the franchise through a name change (formerly the Wizards), the relocation to a new ballpark (now at Parkview Field), and was at the helm when the franchise won the 2009 Midwest League Championship.
Mike was the recipient of the 2022 Minor League Baseball Executive of the Year award and, shortly after our Conversation, he was awarded the The Journal Gazette's "2024 Fort Wayne Area Citizen of the Year" honor.
During out time with Mike he discusses the joys and concerns of operating a High-A Minor League Baseball Franchise. What a TinCap is (and is not). As well as noting some of the future Major League players who have donned a Fort Wayne jersey as a San Diego Padres' affiliate (Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jackson Merrill are but two).
