In this episode we're joined by metro-Detroit elementary physical education teacher and high school girls track coach, Steve Culp.

Beyond working with youngters by day, Steve is a past president of the Detroit Spartans (the Michigan State University metro-Detroit alumni club) and still sits on its Board of Directors.

A Los Angeles, CA, native, we discover how this diehard USC and Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders fan, made his way to East Lansing, MI, and the heart of Big Ten country for his college studies.

And not only was Steve a MSU student, but he dove in head first serving as a Spartan football field manager for three season which helped, in part, land an unpaid internship with beloved Raiders. (An internship that yielded a couple of epic stories Steve shares during our Conversation.)

Among the events Steve reflects upon:

• The 1988 Rose Bowl Game when MSU defeated USC, 20-17;
• The 2009 NCAA Men's Final Four in Detroit's Ford Field featuring MSU;
• MSU defeating rival Michigan, 17-7, during the 1993 season at Spartan Stadium;
• Witnessing MSU defeat Stanford,24-20, in the 2014 Rose Bowl;
• The 2013 B1G Championship Game in Indianapolis where MSU defeated unbeaten Ohio State, 34-24.
