Episode 1.21
As Anna and Layne wrap up their journey through Genesis Rich McCarty joins them again to explore some themes in the book of Genesis, the story of Joseph, and the Bible as a whole. Rich essentially leads this episode as the three of them go on a quest to understand some huge topics in Christian theology and what they mean for us on a day to day basis as ministers and as friends. Anna and Layne will wrap the Joseph story (Genesis 37-50) in the near future but this episode lent itself well to reflecting on Genesis as a whole and getting another voice back on the podcast as part of our Bible on the Road series (crossing over with the Round Table)
Rich has a phD in Religious Studies from the University of Iowa and is a professor at Mercyhurst University. He is a published author of a book titled Sexual Virtue: An Approach to Contemporary Christian Ethics.
This is the third of three (currently scheduled) appearances on the podcast by Rich and we cannot thank him enough for joining us for so long! As Anna mentioned, we hope to have him back on in the near future.
