“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” Our concept of pride often revolves around this notion of arrogance, which is a form of pride, but not the only type. We can experience pride, or deep satisfaction, in a job well-done, a task well-executed, a goal achieved in excellence, or having great self-worth. However, the pride that can serve as the ultimate pitfall is when we prefer self-will over God’s Will.
