On today's episode Jennifer shares with us the inside journey of being a Jehovah's witness. How her experience was while in the cult, breaking free from it and her journey of how she moved through this part of her life.
About the guest: Jennifer Lorance is 46 years old and was raised in the Jehovah's Witness cult in Australia. She left at the age of 21, after a traumatic adolescence and spiritually abusive treatment from the leadership within the organisation. Since leaving, she has completed undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, enjoyed a successful professional career in sustainability and volunteered in advocacy work. She shared her JW experiences as a part of the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sexual Abuse and has been encouraged in recent years to see how big an impact that has had throughout the world. Today, she enjoys the company of her partner, many pets, her daughters and friends. While the effects of her past can never be erased, she describes her life as fulfilled and happy.
