This episode we continue our exploration of Canadian film with one of the most Canadian films to ever Canada. We watched and discussed 2002’s Men With Brooms. A heartwarming comedy about a small town batch of misfits trying to reunite and win the coveted Golden Broom.
This movie was it all, curling, comical ejaculation, Leslie Nielson on mushrooms… what more could you want? OH YA it was also written by, directed by and starring Paul Gross. However there is no Matt Frewer, they do the have the Tragically Hip!
I just, as I write this, realize this was billed as a romantic comedy with the tag line “There’s more than one way to sweep a woman off her feet.” Listen to the episode to find out why that’s a little icky and join us next time when we talk about 2024’s Seeds.
