As most of us know that in our community, the attitude towards Mental Health is not to be discussed as it brings shame and embarrassment for the family. This shuts down the idea of seeking real help, real medical treatment. 

Suicidal thoughts, plans, and attempts are rising among Latinx/Hispanic young adults. Although it is still lower than the overall U.S. population, it has been on the rise since 2008.

Mental illness is often a stigmatized topic. We all know the suffering in silence and hush hush culture in our community. 

This month is to raise awareness and to encourage everyone to break the stigma associated with Mental Health disorders.
