Description

Jacob has fathered many sons, struggled with his faith, and found a level of stability in his walk with Yahweh. Out of his 12 sons he began to show his love for Rachel through Joseph and, in some way, played favorites. However, Joseph's brothers resented not only his status with his father (he had a special garment made for him by Jacob), but his dreams that they would bow down to him. Their jealousy grew until they plotted to murder--then sell--him to Egypt. While there Joseph found a way to survive. He like Jacob wrestled to survive and he, like many of us, found a way to succeed. Can we still believe in a God who allows evil to reign and yet offers us a way to come out on top? Is the second chance from God simply for us alone, or others?
