Deputy Director, Matthew Jameson, chats to Grace O’Keefe, co-founder of The Queens of Cups about their upcoming show New Moon Monologues

We discuss the moon’s influence on energy levels, the need and accessibility of comedy, the new challenges for theatre and new writing in uncertain times, and cross-disciplines in advance of the run of New Moon Monologues at the Space (playing 15th - 17th June including a livestream on the 17th and on demand access for two weeks after that).

Grace O’Keefe and Erin Holland (aka the Queens of Cups) launched New Moon Monologues as a platform for emerging artists back in 2020 as a digital new writing night. With each online installment reaching hundreds of viewers, the pair decided to bring the night to the Space Theatre for a sold out night as one of the first shows when theatres reopened.

Following a sold out run of their solo-show, Bad Teacher at EdFringe, the Queens are heading back to the Space to host another night of New Writing.

Helmed by Erin as Literary Manager and Grace as Director, the Queens will curate a night of new writing on a series of three nights  leading up to June’s new moon.
