Episode ONE of the series Loss & bereavement from the room held on the 12th July on Clubhouse.
This one is a taboo topic and I am to normalise the topic as a Bereavement Doula. There were quite a few parents who joined the stage to share their own experiences, newly trained and experienced doulas also shared their questions, perspectives etc. There was a lot of FIRST hand insightful wisdom shared by the bereaved parents also so that we may get a glimpse of what their experiences felt like but also what helped them, what they hoped was done differently and how you can support in this way also should you find yourself in the situation as a birth worker
There will be a training coming in the winter with this regard, for doulas, birth workers of any level and anyone else who feels called to learn how to hold space in these moments. Information will be shared on Naomie's IG page when it is ready and otherwise check her website regularly too
