For many mothers (She/Her) the load of motherhood is so invisible because we function through them. The load is so invisible because we soldier on and make things happen. This was a wholesome room with many who joined the stage and shared. I am sure what is shared in this episode many will resonate with and even 'aha' to because we have normalised carrying and bearing the load that many can never even identify it as a load
There is also a notion that parenthood or motherhood is supposed to be a bed of roses and it is not. It is hard work, it demands that we give uo so much and avail ourselves very often and it is simply not easy. It has its rewards but there is a lot of work that we need to invest in as mothers and parents as they grown up
What i love about the whole journey is that it is a learning experience for both the children and the parents. And it is to remind ourselves to allow ourselves space and grace as we parent.
