**TRIGGER WARNING**

This episode discusses abusive acts, domestic violence, and graphic details. If you are sensitive to this content, feel free to skip this episode.

Kelly Anne Bates was described as a bubbly tomboy with an energetic personality. With aspirations of becoming a teacher and already working at just 14, her future was bright. But when her parents start to notice her fading smile and signs of abuse, they knew her boyfriend Dave was to blame. What they didn't know, however, was how detrimental their daughter’s new-found “love” would be.
