Hebrews 10:23, 11:6; Matthew 25:14-30
FAITHFULNESS: Fruit-Filled Faithfulness
1. Faithfulness flows from recognition
a. Of the resource
b. Of the opportunity – to please God; to serve others
c. Of the expectation – the Master has given to the servant, rightly expecting a return
2. Faithfulness requires intentionality
a. Intentional investment
i. time, talent, treasure
b. Intentional risk – Trust
c. Intentional Patience – the long view; didn’t know how long, and it didn’t matter
d. Intentional Goal – Please the Master
3. Faithfulness has its reward
a. More responsibility – from little to much!
b. The Master’s Joy – eternal; Hebrews 11:6
c. The Crown of Righteousness – Paul in 2 Timothy 4:6-8
4. Will you be faithful?
a. Not many examples in the Scriptures (of 1,000 biblical characters, < 30% finished well)
b. or in real life, ~33% - from a study of 3500 leaders
c. Oh, many started well…
i. Many drop out (usually due to burnout). Some have a
moral failing. The majority plateau (fade into a slow fail).
d. It is never too late to finish well.
e. You are just one prayer away from the commitment to Finish Well – be Fruit-filled Faithful!
